I've been writing poetry and prose since a child. I recall at six or seven, discovering Rudyard Kipling, and holding readings in our living room. I am an original flower child, there was so much to write about in those awesome, halcyon days, both apocalyptic and serenely grruvy. Yes, that word is still prominent in my vocabulary. I'm female, gay, and single. I'm from Austin, Texas, the grrrruuuviest city in the world besides Amsterdam! Went to St. Edward's University, a private Catholic liberal arts university. BIIIIG emphasis on the liberal. Philosophy major, German minor. Got my first degree back in the first ice age in English. I was writing things that caught the eye of several of my profs. They helped me to get published in an Anthology named Analecta, published by University of Texas. I could see New York just up ahead, with me spending my days as Editor of a top 5 publishing firm, and writing in my spare time. The perfect balance. Then I fell in love. Had to have him. Life would cease to exist without him. So.....I traded my MFA for my MRS. Just an aside to offer learned wisdom: never marry your college sweetheart, and never get a place after rehab with one of your fellow rehabers. Just some things I've learned. I'm living in Dallas now for work reasons. My name is Judy; although, hopefully, you will see my other persona, Judith Briney Hensley, when I finally get my manuscript published. It's titled 'Down A Blonde Alley' and is comprised of most of the poems I've got on site. I do hope each person not only enjoys my work, but takes something positive/insightful from them. I do believe, truly, that I have a Muse. When I write something I KNOW is killer, I could feel all of it, the words, the placements, everything, coming from a source beyond me. I would never publish anything that did not come from that feeling. So...just read. Lemme know what you think, if you'd like. Laters
