Splintered Lullabies
|
we'll finally learn to fly before the fall
but what does it mean when you're free
free to rise up like a halo in the city
a Mary Magdalena or another eve with such pride
arms open wide, the heart follows the light
whose to say she wasn't real a long time ago
before the spirits went to snow
and it is so cold here in this ice castle
to be happy enough to step up to the wave
try and be brave when you behave
i would rather pave the way
then have my path already paved
the ones who get away
were the ones who were never saved
outside these happy places we see
this chaos and confusion of electricity
there may be a way out someday
there are too many voices calling me
and aliens might be our only way out
i don't think they're real but what else can I say
no one knows what we're about!
numb to myself
numb to my home
given a chance
to leave myself alone
i am never truly alone
television...
I guess I'm just a little too freaked out
I guess I'm just a little too much for you
this might be the last call
before I ascend into the blue
crystalline hue
but I'll miss you too
when i remember what's true
freedom is bliss but where's the objection
hold me up i can't handle this alone
they can't drag me down this time
i am free to rise up into the sublime
no more dragging me down
no more
in my brain, they called me insane
the colors were a happy train
against the screen it was another show
was it ok to be a machine?
try to prove yourself and top them all
they have been here before
the fire has all but melted away
drowned away, i am me just for today
someone help
someone save me before it all fades to gray
what is written may be rewritten someday
with a brighter better plan
there is a way out
find it if you can!
