Broken hope

I can't breathe
The sadness within
Snapping my ribs like a tooth pick
One by one, they leave me
Hour by hour, the light slips away
But still I cling for it...
Beg for it...
Break for it...
The last of my hope
But I watch as it crumbles!

I need air...
Just a breath...
Feed me some hope
Its all I have left..

It's beautiful it's visceral it's raw and in depth with those emotions that we should all feel once in awhile.

Powerfully expressed
This is a wonderful poem though very sad in its theme. It's imagery is vivid and describes a suffocating kind of pain. It's amazing though that though the poem seems to be focused around the theme of despair, there are suggestions of hope within it, in that, the persona struggles to cling to the hope he has left which indicates that the persona hasn't given up but is still fighting. A wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing.

When nothing around you feels like it goes right, that is the time to be still and listen. Life might be trying to tell you something.
