I come home from work, have a drink, a glass of cold beer.

Turn the TV on, see nothing but the same old faces on the screen.

I turned that box off.

I don't hear the talk, nor her voice, nor the people behind the walls of my apartment.

All I see, I stare into nothing.

Nothing is moving, all is just still.

Nothing is breathing, except me in this empty dark room.

She is not even here yet.

She said she would be back, but when?

All is dead around me and everything is sleeping.

I wonder when everything would come to life,

And everyone would begin to live happily.

this is really good. I felt the overwhelming sense of despair and wondering. Thats what poetry should do. Convey your emotions so that others can feel what you were feeling. Keep up the good work!
