Father where are you....

Father! Father where are you?
Wherever you are i can still feel you.
You were the one who lighted my past,
the past which passed in a haste.
You were the one who cared for me,
And always helped me when i felt lonely.
You were like the colors of spring,
Happiness is what you also used to bring.
You filled my moments with joys & blessings,
All my comforts were due to your hard working.
You showed me the right ways,
And along with you have passed my life's colorful days.
You used to drop me to the school,
And along with me you used to indulge yourself in the educational pool.
You used to pick me up from the school gates,
The gates where i used to wait.
Those were the gates bearing some happy moments of my colorful life's days.
The gates where now my feet & mind doesn't stays.
For there i miss you father,
Still i thank God for my lovely mother & caring brothers.
Without you father my days are incomplete,
And now i know with the life i alone have to compete.
But it doesn't mean that we have to stick to our beloved one,
For we too have to go one by one like them.
Father i know you have achieved very much for the hereafter world,
May be you are happier there than in this world.
for there God might have placed everything for you,
Comforts, happiness & even every wish of yours will come true.
Therefore I feel you deserve that life,
Than this life with problems, disappointment, pain & strife.
I know it will take time for me to learn,
That everything has come from God & to him we shall all in the end return...

Author Notes

on this father's day, i present to you a poem i wrote deeply from my heart two days after my dad's demise. this poem means a lot to me.. it includes the realization of how important a dad is to their family specially to a daughter..its been years since he is gone but i treasure this piece as a remembrance of a fifteen year old towards her father...may you find it fruitful for yourself...

It is so clear that this comes from the base of your heart. So much of your feelings poured into every line. Perfect sharing for Father's Day. When my father passed away, I saw a reflection of myself in glass doors at school and my mind asked the question "where do I go now, with no Father?" But he is with you in every way but the physical sense. Hope you have found peace, but I know you missed your Father.
