Frozen by Fear
I know something is calling to me
Walk with me it says, tell them your story
But I’m so afraid to turn in that direction
I have heard this voice since the beginning
Beckoning me to share what I know to be true
But who in their right mind would want to hear it from me
To this question the voice is silent
I should be counted among the worst of men
But still he calls me to his service
I’m frozen here by fear, though I desire to turn in his direction
Not fear of what others will say about me
For I have earned the worst of reputations
Fear that I will turn away after making the commitment
Fear that I will be unable to walk his narrow path
That I will fall to the wayside as so many have
Still the voice calls to me with even more urgency
And I know there is no piece without him in this life
No matter which way I turn I still hear his pleas
Sometimes I just cry and fall to my knees
Lord please! Forgive me; just let this task pass from me
I am unworthy of any ones attention
All is quiet for a while but still there is no piece
Then it begins again, refusing to give up on me
Though I feel if I give in I will find what I seek
But still fear keeps me frozen here By Quickwolf
