On Butterflies Wings

I wish for you
The peace of a Summer's Day

And the joy and freedom
To ride for a moment

On Butterflies Wings

With the colors of the rainbow
You are alive in the sky
Floating petals of beauty
Too soon gone from my sight

Come and rest just a moment
Before flying away
Bless the heart's of my friends
With your beauty today

With no thoughts of tomorrow
Or what soon could be
Touching the blue of the sky
You fly magnificently free

Butterflies of the morning
Where are you off to today
Would you allow a mere human
To watch as you play

Your wings softly flutter
As you dance on the air
Held aloft by soft breezes
You have not a care

I envy your freedom
You have no cares to hide
No sorrows to darken
Your heart as you fly

You are a whisper of hope
When you're seen in the sky
A smile to a heart
When it has forgotten how to fly

For a heart that may be crying
My wish is today
The peace of butterflies wings
That I've left here today

May your tomorrows be treasured
Your sorrows be few
May your daydreams hold beauty
To cling tightly on to

When your heart finds no meaning
To search out the day
Please remember this friend
Who sends best wishes your way

Keep the flame of hope burning
No matter how low it may become
Reach for the hand of a friend
To regain the warmth of the sun

Your tomorrow is waiting
To be claimed by you

On butterflies wings
May your dreams all come true

Author Notes

Our own Wake The Moon (Sue) has been rather down, I have been rather down, and from being out and about in our community I am seeing that perhaps all of us are a little down. It seems that heartprints are becomming fewer and fewer on everyone's heartsongs. The heartprints we receive is what encourages the pen. It is not only that, for most of us WN is not only a writing site but our social site, where friends meet friends that share the same passion. Our FB of sorts. We are a writing community. Stop in and visit with someone you have not read in awhile, say "Hi" and bring a smile. Have a great day everyone. AA

Coming onto this site has re-awakened my soul and I thank you for sharing this lovely piece.

Ah (Irish) The Mountains of Mourne

Yes I love this music as well. I have haunted it down all over everywhere as it comes and goes to this write. Almost like a butterfly flitting away. This is a wonderful site and I am so glad that you are enjoying being here. Thank you so much for the time you spend to drop in on me. Blessings, Lesa

Gifted We Are!!
Yes, W-N is a safe haven for many of us. Whether we speak, read or write or just be here within heart and mind we are the soldiers of poetic fortune. I've been so fortunate to have met so many different people. People from around the world. And everyone just as precious as the other. Its a amazing thing.

This beautiful poem puts us all together. As a community, as a family, as writers and poets, we are someone special just like a butterfly.

Thanks Lesa for making us feel good. This is what its all about. SL!!! <3,~A*C*

Andy I am seeing this far too late. I am so sorry. My mail has been crazy these days with so much going on here. I always try to come to each write and thank the friends that has taken the time to make the journey to my words, and I don't think that you have missed a single one. Thank you so much for the always wonderful reviews, applause and SL's. It may be sometime Monday before I am out and about enjoying dropping in on your page. I am trying to do some work on my side of the screen. I updated to Pro yesterday and it has finally allowed me to put some of my work into folders, so I am not spread all over the pages here. One thing I do really like is the guestbook feature, which I am not sure is working as yet. Sue 'Wake The Moon' said she left me something but even when she went in herself her entries did not show for her. I would love for you to drop in on me. You have been a great friend from the very beginning and I would love to have your heart print there also. Sorry for not going to PM but jumping in and out of WN today as I can steal a moment or two. Have a great weekend and I hope that you had a wonderful time at your concert. How ya feeling? Lesa

In this "Hurry up" world in which we live there are too few moments to say "thank you for being a friend". From the bottom of my heart I say Thank You. Your heart shines my friend.

Thank you so much John. I appeciate your time to drop by and leave me such a sweet heartprint. I have a bit of a family crisis going on here today but I will be dropping in on your side of the screen soon. Thanks again and blessings for your day. Lesa

Oh my...
Lesa, this just an exquisitely penned Tribute poem dedicated to the many of us who have been down for a myriad of reasons lately. I think that I have now pulled myself out of the doldrums and am feeling much better...and hope that you and Sue get past it soon.

Lesa, the words, graphics and music are all perfectly intune within this beautiful heartfelt piece that comes from the pen of someone with a very big and loving heart. Friendships are so important in good times and in bad - and this piece is very inspirational to me.

As you may know, Butterflies are very special to me and the graphics within this piece are the best that I've ever seen...and I'm so glad that you've shared them with us.

Everything within this piece is so beautiful -- but the last two lines connected with my heart the most:

"On butterflies wings
May your dreams all come true"

Lesa, thanks for sharing this heartfelt "Friendship" piece with us which definitely deserves to be in the SL.

Thank you so much MJ for yet another cherished heartprint, SL and applause. I am glad that this write brought you a measure of peace and some inspiration. To touch a heart is my only goal when I come to the screen. Yours has been one that is always a pleasure to know that I have done that. Have a great day. I will be dropping in on your side of the screen soon. Blessings, Lesa

What a very great pleasure it is to visit here and be so heartwarmingly entertained.
I can only applaud and congratulate this quite remarkable composition, together with what is (to my mind) perfectly complimentary musical accompanyment and artwork.
Bravo then to you dear lady, for this so well earned S.P. nomination. JH

The pleasure is always mine johnhenry when you can drop in. I am so glad that you enjoyed. I know my insistance of using music and graphics behind my words is not everyone's cup of tea, but hey I am a mere writer of words and have never claimed to be a true poet. They have been with me since the very beginning of Aspiring's musings. I wish for you the joy of butterflies wings. Thank you for the SL rating and lovely heartprint left for me to find and cherish. Much appreciated. Lesa

Such a lovely work
But I have to tell you, this is my favorite line.......A smile to a heart
When it has forgotten how to fly . That says it all to me. That is what inspires people to shake off heartbreak and depression and all the other things that weigh down the soul in this life. A smile. It is powerful beyond belief, much like prayer is. That line just fits in so well with the concept of butterflies and joy! What a wonderful work to read on a rainy California night! Hugs to you!

Hi sweetie. I am so glad that you found your way to this one for of course the wishes are for you as well. I think our heart's all forget how to fly every now and then. I sure hope the new job is going well and you are finding a new schedule in life that you can deal with. LOL It seems around here one thing added throws everything all off. My husband has not been feeling well, so we are in the process of lab tests and just about every other kind of test that they can throw at him. I am so sorry it has taken me this long to get here to thank you for visiting. I will be dropping in on your side of the screen soon. Big smiles and prayers for your day my friend. Thank you for the clappies and another great rating. The heartprint as always is cherished. Blessinngs, Lesa

What a lovely wish
for your friends. It is too cold for butterflies here in PA but we have myriads of them during the summer. I had a kitty named Pyewacket for 21 years before she died. She was my best friend - gentle and loving - but she loved to chase butterflies so there is a butterfly bush out on her little grave. This reminded me so of that. My husband bought the bush and planted it for her. I guess that many of us here are a little down and out these days. I know that I have been as well. Perhaps the "letdown" after the holidays and so many worries on our minds. This poem is simply put, a lovely way to lift the spirits and I appreciate them very much. Another SL for you, Lesa. Sarah

Hello Sweetie. What a heart touching heartprint you have left for me. I have not seen as yet any butterflies this year but keep hoping. LOL I think we are all ready for the cold and gray to go away and find Spring in all of its glory of renewal. We only seem to see one kind of butterfly here in the desert, but they are large, really large. Black outlined wings, bright yellow for the main color with big black spots. They are so big when they drop in, it almost seems they are a small bird flying. What a sweet thing to put the butterfly bush on Pyewacket's grave. Now she will always have the beauty of fluttering wings to warm her as she sleeps. Thank you once again for your applause, rating and of course the
SL. I will be dropping in on your side of the screen soon. Blessings for your day. Lesa

.. an Angel sent from above in my time of need. At a bad/sad place. Needed someone to talk to/share my pain - it lingers on. Your piece brought that much needed 'comfort' but brought with it some tears. The lines that struck me most are:- ..' no cares 2 hide, no sorrows darken your heart'. ...for a heart that may be crying'. You captured the beauty of nature in this fetching piece. Your message is gladly received. Thank you. Kitty

Kitty I am sorry I am so late getting here to thank you for such a lovely heartprint, high rating, and the points you sent with this is very touching. You know our lives can sure be hard to tolerate sometimes. I am so sorry that yours has not been happy as of late. I am glad that this lightened the burdon some. Please have a good day, and if you should see a butterfly floating by, think of me. Lesa

Butterflys are such precious and beautiful creatures. I love watching them dance through my garden. This poem also is beautiful and precious. It lifted my spirits on another long grey winters day. Thank you for penning such an uplifting piece to share with us all. Spotlight!

I am so ready for the gray days to go away and to watch the butterflies play! LOL It is always such a pleasure when you can drop in on me. Thank you so much for your warm heartprint, applause, and SL. I hope that your day will go well and perhaps the clouds will part to let in a little sunshine. Who knows maybe you will even see an early butterfly. Blessings, Lesa

Bless you...
a zillion times over sweet lady not just for your fine poetry but also for your obviously caring heart. I already said that you are a bright, star-like light shining on this site. But you are more than that. You are a friend! And I hope you consider me as a friend too, I think you do and I am honored. Somehow milady God (whatever Higher Power you believe in) has gifted you greatly with an ability to write beautifully and combine that with music and pictures that equally enhance your poems. I've seen some fine poets on a number of sites. Not to inflate your ego to bursting but merely to state an opinion I see as fact. You are among the very best! And this gift to friends here just supports that so thank you my dear friend!

Of course Mike I consider you a friend and I am glad that you think of me the same way. I know we may have to agree to disagree on a few things every now and then, but that in no means changes my feelings of a friend. One man's peace is another man questions. I am so sorry I am late getting here to thank you for such a heartwarming heartprint and encouragement that lives within it for me. My husband has not been feeling well and we are in the process of medical tests and the like. I will of course be dropping in on you soon to read the you of you. Have a wonderful day my friend. Lesa

How did you do that? Your not a pro writer, are you?

Thank you for such a sweet heartprint. I do all of my graphics and illustrations by html coding. No I am not a pro writer but I am thinking seriously of doing so, to support the site that has done so much for my heart. Thank you so much for dropping in. Lesa

OH my! How could I have the honor of being your first review? This is exquisite! It is uplifting, flowing and heartfelt. It pours beauty from its very depths. The butterfly that I have chosen to brand some of my writes has very special and multiple level meanings to me and this piece-displays all of them. So gorgeously done from top to end, from heart to mind, from words to visual effects-it 100% fabulous! I am also honored that you were thinking of me when you posted this, as you said in pm. It lifted my spirits. It let me fly and glide on the wings, if but for a lingering moment! SL yes, yes, yes!

I just reread with the note added and I am so touched to be mentioned. I think your comment is well-received. I think as artists, as perfectionists in all we do, and as emotional beings, taking our poetry as our personal sign of creativity and value, our egos get easily bruised. But feedback to anyone is like nourishment to a spirit. There should be a spotlight for best reviews! That is always a source of giving to others wonderfully!

WakeTheMoon replied on February 19, 2013

I totally agree with you Sue. It is the perfectionist in us all that wishes our hearts to be seen and recognized. You can receive a million views and that is very nice, but how do you truly know, you are not clicked upon, looked at for a second or two and it is decided by the reader, nope don't think so. For me a heartprint is worth so much. Yes the clappies, the ratings, and SL are wonderful, and I am as guilty as everyone else that enjoys receiving them, and cherishing them, and being able to give them when merrited, but if they were all to go away, it is the heartprint that nourishes our spirit, just have you have said. I let myself get tied up in life, I find myself in writers block more often than you know. Much of what you see from me, are older writes that have come full circle in my life. Indeed completly my work, revised and hopefully made better. If I would not do that, for myself, I would slowly fade away and I absolutely refulse to let this part of my life be taken as well. When I go to writer's block I refuse the whisperings because most time they are sad, needing to be released, but refused. Pretty soon even those whisperings become less and less. You are a fantastic writer Sue, and you have the sweetest heart. Pen on my friend. Lesa

 Aspiring_Angel3 replied on February 19, 2013

Sue I thank you so much for your sweet heartprint, that applause, and the SL. I am so glad that this lifted your heart even for a little while. With the newest of our parallel lives being discovered yesterday, I wanted to give to you the butterflies as a token of friendship and understanding. Thank you so much for all you have done for me.
"Keep the flame of hope burning
No matter how low it may become
Reach for the hand of a friend
To regain the warmth of the sun
That is what you did for me when we spoke on the phone the other day and I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your caring heart and friendship. Hugs, Me

 Aspiring_Angel3 replied on February 19, 2013

I come here often...Just so you know. Today , no different. Everything that I hear, that I see, that touches me today and I burst into tears. I read the comments over again and the part that makes me all full of tears today is where you said that I have "the sweetest heart" , I'm TOUCHED THAT YOU THINKS SO, BUT I THINK I JUST HAVE THE SADDEST HEART. On Butterfly's Wings is where you take your readers, bless you!

WakeTheMoon replied on February 23, 2013

I came here today to see the beauty of butterflies and you-thank you!

WakeTheMoon replied on March 19, 2013

Sweetie I bring you back here today because I know the significance of the butterfly brings to each of us. I have always like this write and I too revisit it from time to time to try to find peace. I was a day ahead of myself when I spoke of Momma's services being today. It is tomorrow. Her Garden of Remembrance is in place at Starlite, her flowers should be arranged sometime today and delivered in the morning. As I look at the time on my computer, tomorrow at this time she will be among family that chooses to come to her, and her actual service will begin in an hour.

I have not went directly to your site this morning and I am not seeing a picture for you showing here. I know that you are in sadness of your words and I am praying that I do not find them gone when I arrive to them. In the year that we have known each other we have shared many personal moment. We have both found ourselves in the today to be within a period of contemplation and sadness. I wanted this morning to reassure you that 'This too shall pass' Thinking of you my dear friend.

When your heart finds no meaning
To search out the day
Please remember this friend
Who sends best wishes your way

Thinking of you today with love,
'just me'

 Aspiring_Angel3 replied on October 29, 2013

As soon as I land here, tears roll. I came again to have my hand held and there you are-songs, light and butterflies. With your heart close, mine will mend, Tears dry after a rain and Nature adorns the spirit once again. I would have never come here to W-N if I hadn't known I'd find a friend like you!
