Blushing Moon

I reach for your hand and all that I feel
is the keyboard of my soul, the touch of
the human hand pressing warmly on
my own skin is missing from that life.

I listen in my room for the sound
of your voice and all that I hear
is a digital echo clicking in my
dreams, wandering through the
corridors of space left in my empty

I look for your eyes, open and caring
wanting and real, piercing to my core
if ever seen in moonlight and what
I spy instead in my vision is more of
an illusion

I try to smell the perfume of you
lingering upon a memory some
place recent, some place far, and
the odor that nestles in my nose
is that of a warm and dusty modem
humming vacant on the lonely floor.

I could taste the juices of us,
but only if I capture the honey
upon the blushing moon's sky

I wish upon ...
... a moonbeam that I could recapture those raptuous moments so cunningly penned in this piece.

thank you so much kitty

I get the sense that somebody the author cares about is far away so it's a long distance poem. Could be read other ways but that's how I see it. The final part is like this, they only share the moon over such distances and that the moon blushes really clinches it for me. Cool.

yes, indeed, you read this very well! Thank you so much for your visit and I look forward to visiting your page very soon!

This is so sensual and hauntingly wistful.
Sort of like remembering a lover that is lost to you.
An Extremely Good Piece.
Well worded and filled with feeling.
God Bless and thanks so much for the kind words on my "I Thank My God At Every Memory Of You."

thank you so much, Judy! It seems you have caught the feeling on this so well. It is something a bit beneath the surface and you have read it so well! Thank you again and you are always welcome for my visits. See you again soon

This has it all Sue! Wonderful illustrations and a captivating sense of longing and sensuality within your own heartsong. I am someone that reads between the lines as you know, and there is much to see within the lines given, wheather it be of my own imagination or reality. This cannot help but be spotlighted by me, with full applause and rating. Beautifully written and received. Lesa

Oh, Lesa, you are much too generous! This write is more like an exercise in phrasing for me. I had to post something written within the last week, just to assure myself that I can still put something together and I don't have to rely on old work, but it is one of those "nothing writes" to me., just thoughts that I had, with no consequence. It satisfies the urge of constructing a scene on screen, making something out of nothing, just "being present". This piece has no expectation, it just commits me to writing and I need that. Thank you so much for your support, dear friend. Doesn't it seem odd to you that the Spotlight list has so many with only a count of one? It used to be much higher counts to even appear on the list, but are readers being very stingy with how they award SL's? I am very appreciative to have ANY!!
