Majestic Dreamers Ch 9: Reunion
CHAPTER NINE: REUNION
At around 8:30pm, we noticed disturbances beginning to break out all around the kingdom. There were numerous complaints of theft, and the movements of the knights began to be directed away from the castle. However, because the knights and the people were already on unfriendly terms because of the oppression of the people by the royals, fights began to break out all around the kingdom.
When the news reached the Princes, they had no choice but to send some extra knights from the castle to deal with the disturbances however, unexpectedly, to protect themselves, they bolstered the castle’s defences even tighter.
Reis and I observed things from a distance.
“This doesn’t look good” Reis said.
“Well it is natural to want to protect yourself from the danger. This instinct is unusually stronger in the high and mighty” I said with a smirk.
“Well, this could work to our advantage” Reis said with a smirk.
“How exactly?” I asked.
“Well, if we crush their defences at the strongest, they’ll be a bit more reluctant in pursuing us” Reis said.
“I don’t think I’ve had as much respect for you as I do now bro” I said.
“So why don’t you summon Omega?” I asked Reis.
“Uh-um…I haven’t quite figured out that part yet. He still doesn’t respond to my call” Reis said.
“Haaah, that stubborn dragon. Well, there is probably another way to call him. Stretch out your hand Reis” I said.
“What do you intend to do?” Reis asked.
“He doesn’t like me very much does he?” I asked.
“Certainly not, he absolutely despises your guts” Reis said.
“Then this should work!” I said as I grabbed Reis’ ‘Ring Of Omega’ and tugged at it with all my might.
There was a loud roar and a sudden outburst of energy as Omega materialized in front of us.
“You filthy human! Would you dare claim a power you haven’t earned?!” he roared.
“Sorry to disappoint Omega but I don’t want your power. This just seemed the most effective way to summon you. Reis hasn’t quite figured that part out yet” I said.
“You sure know how to annoy me!” Omega growled.
“The feeling is mutual, trust me” I said.
“Omega, take us…there” Reis pointed to the castle.
Moments later, there were screams among the knights guarding the castle and everyone in the castle in general. Screams of…
“IT’S A DRAGON! RUN!”
“Omega, try not to torch anyone” I said nonchalantly.
“I’m not making any promises. That to a large extent depends on how they react” Omega said.
In the castle, Aurora and Ayumi heard the disturbance. Just when they were about to inquire as to what was happening, one of the ladies we had seen in the city burst into their room.
“Your highnesses, it’s dangerous to remain here! There’s a dragon attacking the castle!” she said.
“A dragon?” Aurora seemed surprised. “Could it be?”
“You’re thinking it’s probably Omega right?” Ayumi asked.
“That dragon is a strange one. It had no reason to stay in Saggeese. No reason at all to undertake our trials. Could it have finally gone berserk…or is it possible that someone has already bonded with it?” Aurora asked herself.
At that moment, the window to their room flew open and an intense wind blew into the room. The wind was from the beating of Omega’s wings. The princesses shut their eyes and shielded their faces. When they opened their eyes, Omega flew over the balcony.
“It is Omega! B-But…how?! How can you be here?!” Aurora exclaimed in shock and fear.
“Aurora! Ayumi! Long time no see” a familiar voice called out to them.
The princesses raised their eyes to look at the back of the dragon and finally saw who had called out to them.
I was waving at them with a smile.
“It’s been a while. Let’s talk” Reis said.
“Reis?” Aurora called.
“Zan?” Ayumi called.
“Yep, that’s us. Anyway, we can’t stay for long. So come aboard, we’d like to talk” Reis said.
Omega flew a little lower till we were face to face with the princesses.
“It has…indeed been long. We’d also like to talk…however…” Aurora began to say.
“Sorry, our ride isn’t as fancy a one as that other guy, he had a flying carpet, but I guess I’ll repeat what he said… ‘Do you trust me?’” I said with a serious look in my eyes.
The princesses laughed and sighed.
“Fine, we’ll come aboard but first we owe you a little something” they said as they jumped unto the dragons and gave us twin phoenix flying punches.
“That…was for ruining our wedding!” they yelled.
“I guess we deserved that” we said while rubbing our cheeks to ease the pain.
The princesses burst into laughter.
