Has the world gone mad

                                            Has the world gone mad?
What has become of  old fashioned discipline, bad behaviour is no longer a sin
Most of which is with ill intent and  the majority of it is from our parliament
Our Prime Minister's eyes angrily glisten when party members refuse to listen
They believe that they are remote completely forgetting it's  the public who vote.

We are heading into another battle with MP's delivering a load of ridiculous prattle
The public have voted on what they're to do:  Please  get us out of the dominant EU
MP's presume that this was misquoted and refuse to apply for what we have voted
Now the party's are expecting perfection by demanding a very early general election.

Each party will promise a  fantastic  change of many of the things they will re-arrange
After the promising song has been sung you'll see every party speaks with false tongue
The winning party will show  proof that all that they promised was devoid of the truth
Be honest with voters and you'll be respected, honesty is mainly why you where elected

Aptly put sir
Eight years of Obama nearly made me nuts with frustration watching him trying to flush us down the commode GRRRRR If we ever get good government it will be in spite of the media and the toadying sycophants, I wish us all luck Cheers Rod.
One more thing: I just discovered WN was back up how long was it down do you know?

Glad to have you back Bob, I'm not sure how long WN will stay or if they will just disappear again. but I think it has been more than a couple of months since their return. Richom put me on to allpoetry.com and also Writers Café, both are pretty good but at my age trying to learn how to post, read and find my way around is extremely tiring. I cure it with a glass of whiskey Thanks for reading and making contact, it's a bit like a reunion    Take care   Rod.

I came back with a new addition to the saga about Vikings and thought a former seafarer such as yourself might like it.

Hi Rod, I am not all that familiar with your politics other than I understand you are to withdraw from the EU. I always thought that to be a bad idea. Tell me is it just England or is it the UK? On the other side of the pond our people spoke up and we got Trump. To me this is such a blessing. he mostly does what he says he was going to do. He doesn't kiss anyone's ring or ass as it may be. He won't bow to political correctness or the imbedded power brokers. He takes a beating everyday in the media and it is all fabrication, lies and deceit. These shameful media write demeaning stories of his wife and young son it's disgusting. I heard a figure of 89---93 % of articles are negative. We have a Trump and you need another Thatcher. Good luck and never believe the media.

Bad idea --I meant to join in the first place.

I'm afraid the social media are the root cause of much of our political mayhem, the trouble is all governments are only interested in their own benefits and never seem to listen to what the people who voted them in want. I don't suppose it will ever change and I do believe the world is on a downward spiral. I'm glad that I am at this end of my life and not the beginning!!  Thanks for your comments and I must agree that Donald Trump is proving his worth more and more every day.  take care.   Rod.

You ask in your AN what's the point of complaining? Granted that it changes nothing, but it lets off steam lest we explode.
As to the question that starts your poem, the answer is no. It's not going mad--it has always been mad. I've just reviewed another poem that advises us to "go with the flow." For the sake of our blood pressures, I think that is the wisest course. Let the blighters (always wanted to use that good, old Brit's word) keep on screwing things up. Just have a drink, enjoy the sunset, listen to music, make love, write a poem about pleasanter topics, and let the world continue its headlong dash to human extinction. Won't be around to see the end, so, in the words of Alfred Neuman of Mad magazine, "Why worry?"

Really appreciated your advice Richard, have a drink, listen to music etc. Part of my normal daily routine apart from making love!! To be honest I should just keep my nose out of the governmental mayhem that seems to be taking over the UK. It just seems to be roles reversed in this modern age, the public have no say in anything yet they are expected to vote for whoever tells the biggest lies. The whiskey bottle is calling me and the blood pressure is rising so I reckon I will forget about the mess this country is in and enjoy my side of life!! The UK is ruled by crazy "Blighters" Take care and thanks for your support Old Mate.   Rod.
