Why do Women Rule?

                                      Why do women rule?

Is it just me? or have I lost the plot, are women becoming the leaders?
Men supported families as nature intended and women were family feeders
With the passing of years times have changed, now women are the Bosses
They are becoming employed in every job and men are suffering the losses

We now have a feminine football team, also female Rugby, Golf and Cricket
Now they rule in many a masculine ploy violently telling men where to stick it
Television presenters were always Men quietly presenting the news and weather
Now shrieking females make a horrible noise mostly by women working together.

The Royal Navy was always a masculine duty, a woman was known as a Wren
There was no way she would serve on board a ship, this is now, and that was then
Now half of the crew are young girls and as an old matelot I just can't conceive
How a young sailor can accept her as a mate is something I cannot believe.

Building our Nation is fading away as mothering is a thing of the past
She gives birth and within a month is back to work, it really leaves me aghast
The child is delivered to nursery and starts a life in confusion of who is Mum
It would not have been my way without a doubt but I guess it's alright for some

I hope I don't offend women, it is just my way of stirring things up.

Well said here.
You have raised a good topic of debate here but as a mother who fathered my children - husband away boxing training at the gym I can see both sides. I enjoyed being Mum/Dad. It had its advantages! No regrets! Hopefully WN will allow us acces indefinately! Another big debate is non gender. Our World!!!!

I am so happy to be back on line with you Kitty, as you say let's hope and pray that we are here to stay this time. take care Rod.

I hope you have a bomb shelter where you'll be safe from feminine fury. What you say is happening, though, for better or worse.
Written with your usual skill, flair, and high dudgeon. (Is there such a thing as low dudgeon?)

I just wrote a complete confession to my stupidity for insulting women then pressed the wrong button and deleted it!! What I said was that I should change the letter "D" in your word Dudgeon for a "N" and make it Dungeon because that is where I am likely to end up when the female population over here read this piece.  Great to be back in touch Richard. thanks for your wise words,    Rod.

To quote a Billy Joel song:

"Yesterday wasn't always good,
And tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems."

Reality may have seemed relatively good for you back when, but you also have to travel in others shoes. What you may feel you are losing, perhaps wasn't rightfully all yours to begin.

That being said, woman are hardly in control of society. They're still vastly the minority in positions of power and influence. In the news, man or woman, they're just teleprompter readers. There's no power there, I assure you. But listen, rather than focus on the powerlessness you are perceiving having vs women, you might want to note that most men and women are allies in the same struggle. Most of us have little say in what goes on in the world, and generally no say beyond what our own hands do.

Thanks for a very intelligent review. I would like to point out that it is a "Humour" poem but it does over ride  humour in places. I suppose you could call it equality which the female population have always been denied. Believe me I am a great lover of women and I know that the world would not exist without them. I do believe, being ex Navy, that a warship is definitely not the place for young women but that is probably because I am now pushing eighty.  Take care.    Rod.

I'll have to check the tags next time, Rod. Or perhaps I should have just known without them. You take care, too.
