Know Peace

If I have not known

It is because I have
Never known I am

For peace can never
Meet other

Than itself.

Very zen-like Sir!
My best friend would definitely love this poem and resonate with the idea. Surely much peace is found within and even with the world in chaos one can turn inward. However, for me as a "people-person" seeing both the incredible good and the vast evil of Mankind to do this is near to impossible. To assume a Zen-like state of being which establishes inner peace but is filtering of and thought processing of emotion will never happen. I love the good out there and I either feel pity for or hate the bad dependent upon the source of the evil. Inner peace is great but at what cost does it come?

A fine poem,

Thanks, Michael.  I would say the cost of inner peace would be considerably less than the cost of inner war.

Be content in mind and ..
..body and happiness is yours.

Thanks, Kitty.  It may take effort, but I believe we can all know inner peace.

John, there are people who have never known 'peace' because it does not exist as they have been exposed to war for decades. The quiet and tranquility belongs someplace else. It is a tragedy. ~ Sonia

Thanks.  My sentiments exactly.  I believe we are all peace in our essence and no outer conditions can change that.
